Pneu-air and the TIC

As part of Scottish Tyre Safety Week, run by the Tyre Industry Council, F1 tyre inflation specialists, Pneu Air, is promoting safer driving thanks to its Uniflate Nitrogen technology.

Uniflate Nitrogen is the most important technology to advance tyre inflation since the pneumatic tyre was invented. The system is the result of constant research and over 11 years experience in Formula 1 racing.

Uniflate Nitrogen is made up of a pre-selected balanced mixture of gases that are ideal for tyre inflation, enabling the system to provide both pressure retention and pressure stability, which is critical for both road safety and motoring economy.

Leigh Stote, Pneu Air business development manager, warns all drivers to take action now. He explains: “Very few people check their tyre pressures on a regular basis. Yet on average 75% of tyres are incorrectly inflated. This affects us all. Under inflation means an increase in drag, affecting not only the cars handling but also increasing tread wear, fuel consumption and, with the resultant heat build-up the increased chances of a blow out. Driving on incorrectly inflated tyres is not only dangerous to you but to other road users too.”

He continues: “Uniflate Nitrogen is a cost-effective solution which proves that getting tough on safety needn’t cost the earth.”

Uniflate Nitrogen is currently available at McConechy’s sites in Glasgow, Falkirk, Ayr, Aberdeen and Thurso. More sites will be offering Uniflate Nitrogen in the coming months, so be sure to ask for Uniflate Nitrogen the next time you visit your tyre depot.
